i will say that as a homosexual woman i do find your coverage of this topic to be very much in my self-interest. i'm a feminist, but my love and attraction to women simply isn't a political statement against sexism, and it won't stand up as one. most of all, i've found that under this kind of ban-men paradigm, the saintly aura of being a Lesbian Who Rejects Patriarchy quickly quickly sours when folks realize you are actually a Lesbian Who Wants To Have Sex With Women, exactly like one of those disgusting patriarchs

Absolutely co-signed, as a homosexual man! Also a feminist, but definitely frustrated by the idea that it’s politically questionable (or for that matter open to debate) to be attracted to men, and likewise excited for this book!

I think about Michaela Kennedy Cuomo, the daughter of Andrew Cuomo and Kerry Kennedy. She came out as demisexual and therefore queer. She is attracted to and dates men but only would only want to have sexual relations in the context of a committed loving relationship. I'm a mid 50s cis straight dude. I just found that head scratching. In my younger years I'd find Michaela to be a conventional heterosexual woman but she identifies as 'queer'. Very interested in seeing you explore these kind of issues.

Awesome! (I'm off Twitter now but would love to talk about this sometime--I think building on the 'Straightness Studies' essay is really exciting!)
