When coeducation is all co-eds
Wherein late-adolescent men receive "incentives...such as free stickers or baseball caps"
A 2015 essay by Alana Massey popularized, but did not coin, the expression, “dick is abundant and low value.” The gist is that men are not the scarce resource some imagine them to be, so women (the ones who date men, obvs) should raise their standards.
I was reminded of this when reading Susan Dominus’s New York Times Magazine story on the efforts U.S. colleges now undertake—or in some cases, don’t—to get men to attend. Back in the day, it was only men going to college—and very few of them, for that matter. Then women started attending as well, and then more men than women, and then the next thing you know, the value of a degree has tanked, and there are 500,000,000 women with MAs in Uselessness Studies who must sit around and read Richard Reeves articles about how the men are falling behind.
