I agree, sexuality is too fundamental to human nature for most mortals to deny, and sex itself is the very opposite of de-centring. It’s the literal act of coupling. As the Kinks paraphrased Jesus on the subject, “We are not two, we are one.”

Cannot read the essay (paywall & time) but 'decenter men' sounds like an extension of the 'decenter whiteness' that is still a mantra for some people I know. The difference is one is allowed to admit that love wins.

Also sorry about the salmon & bakchoy that made tears. Personally I think children are too young to enjoy Asian food, inc. Asian kids. Maybe the trick is to start with hybrids, like fried rice with sausage & mixed veggies or well, salmon carbonara.

Strange take on Asian food. Maybe it's more like, children "decenter leafy greens".

I mean as a matter of accuracy my kids absolutely eat Asian food, the issue is 'here's some fish and green vegetable'

I apologize for my bad take. Should have put my thoughts and assumption better.

Alright, sorry from this Asian man. It's just I know Phoebe loves Asian food, and this was a second attempt to include bakchoy. What I'm saying is traditional Asian dishes aren't easy to enjoy, including by Asian kids. No way this is about Asian food not yummy or what, it's just the case.

I was just thinking of some possible ways to get Canadian kids to eventually liking salted salmon with bakchoy, that's all.

This such a bizarre comment about Asian food, but maybe if you try decentering your whiteness…

Well of course we eat Asian food as Asian kids, just liking every meal is another matter. Greens are hard to like for all children, & the temptation of American food is always there.

I finally loved Asian cuisines as an adult, so kind of understand how it takes time for children, esp. non-Asian ones.
